It has been almost a year since I posted a blog on my website. In that time a lot has changed. One thing is that today is the first full Sunday for me on the job at my new church. I am, in a lot of ways, starting over again, even though this is a continuation of my ministry path. But it is a new trail; a new direction.
To go along with this new direction I am also glad to announce a renewed commitment to this site. My intention is to build this site as a “go to” spot for information, insight, challenges, and practical steps to making worship better in any church willing to listen and implement.
What do I mean by better, you may ask? I mean worship that is stronger, deeper and more interconnected to everyone who worships at your church. I am talking about worship that transcends where you may currently find the worship experience in church, not merely raising the level of what happens on the platform, but reaching out to the pew and actively breaking down the barriers that exist between the two in every church.
- A weekly blog post that will address issues of worship, both congregational and private, from a variety of angles and from a variety of depths. From the “10 things . . .” type article to posts that plunge into the depths worship spirituality, history, theology, and biblical roots, these weekly articles will challenge you to continually examine the worship in your church and in your life.
- Beginning Saturday, June 25, TheWorshipDoctor.com will be launching a pod cast and most likely a v-blog. This pod cast will be created to bring you in-depth worship discussions. Anyone will have the opportunity to submit questions and I will answer them “on the air.” The pod cast and eventual v-blog will begin on a monthly basis (last Saturday of the month) and gradually increase to weekly as the year goes on. The goal is that by January 2017 everyone will have access to quality worship information and dialogue.
You can support these efforts simply by logging on and reading, listening and viewing. This is the boldest and most comprehensive attempt I have ever made to bring to everyone the information that I have been sharing as a teacher and consultant for the last 13 years. Now anyone will have access to quality worship advise for no cost at all. All you have to do is log on. For those who subscribe, you will get links to all of these updates automatically.
I will continue to consult and teach to those persons and churches who wish to apply my experience to their specific needs and situations. I am also beginning a mentoring program where new worship leaders can ask me to work with them directly as they develop their skills and knowledge. If you are interested in being mentored now, prior to launch, simply email me or leave a comment on this post, TheWorshipDoctor.com Facebook page, or you can message me on Twitter to @worshipdr.
Blessings to you all and I hope you will join me on this exciting journey!
